Going Homewards

Remember the stars
we counted for us;
one by one.
You wanted to have them—
desperate we were.
The tumbler you broke,
I mended it.
You ran after it
the bus you caught
riding homewards.
Stretched on a berth,
looking at each other in love,
lost between our gaze.
The world blurred around us
only me and you
going homewards. _____Muhammad Shahab.
