Because I Have

Have you studied astronomy?
Because I have.

You are so rare
To find
Where from, you are
Not of this world;
Its shine and shimmer.
Hardly is anything like you.

There’s the spirit of an angel
Imbued in a worldly creature
Like you, breathing stars,
Even galaxies.

Don’t you wonder?
Your riveting and rapt
Shape shines more
Than the sparkling rays
Of the northern lights.

You–
like a black hole
Absorb the light
From the eyes that behold you.
Not everyone would be
An astronomer
Like me, for you.

An Echo

image

I have wandered in gloomy forests;
Upon the shadowy clouds;
And unguarded mountains.

I have wandered in darkness and light;
In worlds known and unknown;
From yonder stars to lonely planets.

Your echo I hear,
Everywhere.

My eyes scour every inch
To find, to see, and to cherish you;
It is here when they close
And find you as still as a statue.

A Rebirth in Time

image

There’s a leeway
Between us and the stars
That shine luminously,
Giving hope.

I see a distant star
Not different from the one yonder
But this star that I espy,
Does not shine
‘Has withered with time.

Time changes,
Every star that shines,
Every wandering being.
Yet it’s powerless to change
A love bearing heart;
Feeble, now cruel, now kind.
Love rejuvenates the six feet under.
Time ceases, love’s spry.
